JOB DESCRIPTION 1
The tasks a Supervisor & Foreman, Petroleum Refining & Related Activities is expected to perform include:
  • Supervising and guiding workers engaged in processing and refining petroleum and its by-products 
  • Ensuring prescribed quality and standard of production 
  • Guiding workers in operations, temperature control and upkeep of various plants and equipment used in petroleum refining and manufacture of its by-products 
  • Ensuring prescribed quality standards of production of petrol, lubricants and other original and by-products 
  • Arranging for materials, getting samples tested, and making necessary adjustments according to test results 
  • Ensuring safety, upkeep and proper utilization and performance of men and material
  • Maintaining records and registers and submitting returns as prescribed
WORK ENVIRONMENT 
  • It is a field job

  • Local travelling is a part of this job
  • Part-time work and contractual jobs are available in some cities
  • Work from home option is not available
Working hours
  • Factories usually work for 6 days a week and 8/10 hours everyday. This may vary from factory to factory

EDUCATIONAL QUALIFICATIONS AND TRAINING 

B.Sc./Diploma/B.Tech in Chemistry/Mechanical

  • Competent in petroleum refining processes and procedure
  • Knowledge about equipment used in petroleum refining process
  • Well-versed with the safety practices for plant and workers
